What counts as a substantive correction
A correction is logged here when any of the following changes:
- A statute or regulation citation that turned out to be wrong.
- A numeric threshold (rating percentage, year window, dollar amount) that was inaccurate.
- A deadline that was wrong or has been amended.
- An eligibility rule that was misstated.
- A claim about VA process that did not match the M21-1 or current VA.gov guidance.
Typo and CSS fixes are not logged. Inflating "last reviewed" dates for cosmetic edits would be a quiet trust violation.
How corrections happen
Most corrections start as a GitHub issue filed via the Report an errorlink in the footer. Corrections can also come from CVSO and VSO partners directly. Once a fix ships, the page's dateModified in the central page registry is bumped and an entry is added below.
